Things I'm Loving

Favorite Things {January 2018}

I love the start of a new year, when it feels like a clean slate.  It feels like “Here’s my chance to get rid of the old, start fresh with new”.   So let’s start the new year off with some of my favorite things this month.

Things I'm loving in January include a planner for Sam, the best pens to ever grace the pages of my planners, the best Amazon Prime show and more!

Our Christmas decorations have finally been put away and most of the gifts have found their way upstairs to bedrooms.  It almost looks like pre-holiday normal around the house.  Everyone is back to work and school.  We are even thawing out from the past two weeks of below freezing temperatures.  I am hoping that in the thawing I find my motivation.  It seems to have gone missing.

The Simple Elephant Daily Planner

I bought (affiliate link –>) The Simple Elephant daily planner  for Sam for Christmas and he absolutely loves it.  He takes it everywhere with him. It has monthly views and horizontal weekly format with places to write daily and weekly goals.  It is undated, so you can start using it whenever and you won’t waste any pages. I used the MAMBI Dates & Holidays stickers for the months and dates in Sam’s.  I recommend this planner to everyone looking for a planner for their husband/boyfriend.

TUL Retractable Gel Pens

You guys!!! OMG!  I have been hearing about these pens in all of my planner groups for the past year. I am super picky about my pens, I mean REALLY picky.  And I always thought these were a little pricey.  Until I found (affiliate link –>) this set of 0.7 medium point, bright gel TUL pens.  They are reasonably priced (less than $10) and they write like a dream.   The ink is bright, as promised, and flows smoothly.  I could write all day with these pens.  I seriously pink puffy heart 💗 love them.

You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero

I have to be honest, I just started reading (affiliate link –>) You are a Badass two days ago, but I am already pink puffy heart 💗 in love with it.  So much so, I went out yesterday and bought (you guessed it, another affiliate link –>) You are a Badass at Making Money.  I have heard nothing but amazing things about both books.  In fact when I posted a picture of the book on Instagram I got so many comments from people who read and loved it.

You can get (affiliate links coming) the paperback here –>You are a Badass paperback or the Kindle version here –> You are a Badass Kindle

Fiskars 1/8 inch hand punch

The only complaint I had about the Erin Condren Lifeplanner™ was it was impossible to add any printable inserts I made.  Or so I thought.  It turns out you can print any printable, and use this (yep, another affiliate link –>) Fiskars hole punch (and scissors to cut the slits) to punch perfectly sized and spaced holes to fit my Erin Condren.  I am so excited to add my own printables to my planner!

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

This show!  The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is the best new show I have found recently.  It is brilliantly written, incredibly smart and funny, and perfectly cast.  It is set in 1958 and it is a perfect pushing the boundaries, and challenging the norm kind of story.  You will find yourself laughing with and cheering for Midge Maisel.  Seriously, pour a glass of wine, send the kids to bed and get caught up in 1958.
